I kept screenshots of every host's Black Friday sale page for a reason. A banner tells you what a host wants you to notice; it does not tell you what you pay after the first term, or whether the server holds up when visitors arrive. So this page puts last year's real offer from 26 hosts next to today's price, the renewal and our own test results, with a straight verdict on each.

Why Black Friday 2026 Is the Time to Lock In: AI Is Pushing RAM and Storage Prices Up

Servers are getting more expensive to build, because AI data centers are buying up the memory and storage chips every web host needs. A Black Friday deal on a long term locks today's price before those costs reach your hosting bill.

• Memory prices jumped this year. Market tracker TrendForce forecast conventional DRAM contract prices up 58 to 63% and NAND flash (the chips in SSD storage) up 70 to 75% in a single quarter, April to June 2026, and expects both to keep rising through the end of the year on AI server demand. (TrendForce, March 2026; September 2026)
• Hosts are already passing it on. Hetzner raised its cloud and dedicated server prices from 1 April 2026, for new and existing customers, citing RAM and NVMe SSD costs (heise). OVHcloud's increases from September averaged 28 to 51% depending on the server generation, and its CEO does not expect a return to normal before 2029 (ITPro).
• Renewals are creeping up too. Namecheap raised its shared hosting renewals in May 2026, and GreenGeeks' regular Lite rate went from $12.95 last year to $13.95/mo today.
