GreenGeeks has not announced its 2026 Black Friday sale yet. On the last three, Lite dropped from $2.95 to $1.95 a month: one dollar a month, $12 over the 12-month term. Today Lite is $2.95/mo for 12 months, and after that year it renews at $13.95/mo, sale or no sale.
One thing to know up front: we have not benchmarked GreenGeeks, so this page has no speed or load results for it. It covers what each plan costs, what past Black Fridays offered, what each plan renews at, and how the four-year bill compares with shared plans we have tested.

GreenGeeks sells three shared hosting plans with cPanel. Its plan cards show one term, 12 months paid upfront, and print the renewal rate under the price. Here is each plan on our standard price record.
| Plan | Websites | Web space | 12 months | Paid upfront | Renews at | A year at renewal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | 1 | 25 GB | $2.95/mo | $35.40 | $13.95/mo | $167.40 |
| Pro | Unlimited | 50 GB | $4.95/mo | $59.40 | $18.95/mo | $227.40 |
| Premium | Unlimited | 100 GB | $8.95/mo | $107.40 | $30.95/mo | $371.40 |
US dollars per month before tax, outside a sale. Every plan lists unmetered traffic, a free domain registration or transfer for the first year, free website migration, free SSL, LiteSpeed caching (LSCache) and Redis, free CDN integration and a 30-day money-back guarantee. The "Save 79%" on the Lite card is measured against the renewal rate.
What GreenGeeks Offered on Past Black Fridays
We went back to GreenGeeks' shared hosting page and homepage as the Wayback Machine saved them around Thanksgiving each year, and to the same pages in early October. The table shows the prices on the plan cards, all on the 12-month term.
| Year | What the page said | Lite / Pro / Premium | Lower than before the sale? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 | "Black Friday deals, up to 75% off web hosting, sale ends Nov 30" | $2.49 / $4.95 / $8.95 | No: the same prices in late September |
| 2022 | No Black Friday wording on the saved copy | $2.95 / $4.95 / $8.95 | No: Lite was $2.95 in early October too |
| 2023 | "Special price" on the plan cards | $1.95 / $3.95 / $5.95 | Yes: Lite was $2.95 in early October |
| 2024 | Homepage: "Starting from $1.95 per month" | $1.95 / not saved / not saved | Yes: $2.95, $4.95 and $8.95 in early October |
| 2025 | "Black Friday Deal: Web Hosting from $1.95/mo, 85% off + free domain" | $1.95 / $3.95 / $5.95 | Yes: $2.95, $4.95 and $8.95 in late September |
The saved copies show the plan pages, not a checkout. The "% off" labels are measured against the regular rate, which rose from $10.95 to $12.95 for Lite between 2021 and 2025 and is $13.95/mo today. No saved Black Friday page names a coupon code.
What this means for a buyer: the GreenGeeks Black Friday cut has been the same size three years running, $1 a month on Lite, $1 on Pro and $3 on Premium in 2025. Because the term is 12 months, the whole saving is $12 on Lite and $36 on Premium, and none of it carries into the renewal.
What We Did Not Test
- GreenGeeks' servers. We have not run our benchmark on any GreenGeeks plan, so we have no response time, load or uptime figures for it. The speed figures on this page belong to the other hosts in the comparison.
- Black Friday checkouts. The past prices come from saved copies of GreenGeeks' pages, not from a purchase.
- The green claims. The 300% energy match through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation and the EPA Green Power Partner listing since 2009 are GreenGeeks' own statements; we have not audited them.
- Support, backups and refunds. This page does not measure how quickly GreenGeeks answers a ticket, how its backups restore, or how it handles a refund. Check the backup terms on the plan card before you rely on them.
What GreenGeeks Costs Over Four Years, Compared
A low first-year price hides the renewal, so the fair comparison is the whole bill. Here is four years on each plan at standard prices: the first term at the intro rate, then the renewal rate for the rest. The other hosts are shared plans we have tested, with their result under load.
| Host and plan | First term | Four-year total | 100 visitors at once |
|---|---|---|---|
| GreenGeeks Lite, today's price | $2.95/mo, 12 months | $537.60 | not tested |
| GreenGeeks Lite, last Black Friday price | $1.95/mo, 12 months | $525.60 | not tested |
| GreenGeeks Pro, today's price | $4.95/mo, 12 months | $741.60 | not tested |
| hosting.com Starter, 4 years | $1.99/mo, 48 months | $95.49 | 640ms |
| ChemiCloud Starter | $2.95/mo, 36 months | $249.60 | 240ms |
| Hostinger Premium | $2.99/mo, 48 months | $143.52 | 520ms |
| SiteGround StartUp | $3.99/mo, 12 months | $695.52 | 900ms |
Standard prices before tax, renewing on the same term. "100 visitors at once" is the response time in our load test on the same WordPress site for every tested plan; lower is better. Full method: How We Test.
Two things stand out. GreenGeeks sells only a 12-month term on shared hosting, so three of the four years are at the renewal rate, $167.40 a year for Lite, and the Black Friday price moves the four-year total by just $12. Hosts that sell a 3- or 4-year term at the intro rate come out well below it over the same period, and those plans have a measured result next to the price.
What Happens When the First Year Ends
The intro price, and any Black Friday price, is for the first 12 months only. After that, Lite renews at $13.95/mo, $167.40 a year; Pro at $18.95/mo, $227.40 a year; Premium at $30.95/mo, $371.40 a year. GreenGeeks states it on each card, under the price: pre-paid for 12 months, then renews at the original price.
- Put the renewal date in your calendar when you buy, with a reminder about six weeks before.
- Price the domain renewal too. The free domain is for the first year; it renews at the registry price from year two.
- Compare before it renews. Moving to another host can cost less than the renewal; our guide on whether to renew or move walks through the numbers.
How to Buy at the Lowest Price
- Open GreenGeeks' shared hosting page through our link or directly. In past sales the sale price was on the plan cards, with no code to enter.
- Pick the plan: Lite for one site, Pro for several, Premium for a store or a busy site.
- Read the line under the price: the upfront 12-month total and the renewal rate.
- In the cart, claim the free domain, keep only the add-ons you chose, and check the total before you pay.
- Ask for the free migration if you are moving an existing site.
Our GreenGeeks coupon page covers discounts outside November.
Who Should Buy It
What I Would Do
If GreenGeeks is the host I want, I would wait for the sale weekend: on the last three, Lite has been a dollar a month cheaper, and nothing about the plan changes. I would not stretch the budget for it, though, because the saving is $12 and the renewal is the same $13.95/mo either way. If the four-year cost or measured speed matters more than the green pitch, I would pick a host we have tested and take its longest term.

GreenGeeks Black Friday FAQ
When does GreenGeeks Black Friday 2026 start?
GreenGeeks has not announced it yet. On the records we have, its Black Friday prices were on the plan cards in the last week of November: in 2025 the page carried a Black Friday banner from at least 21 November and the prices were still there on 5 December, and in 2021 the banner said the sale ended on 30 November.
How much does GreenGeeks cut on Black Friday?
In 2023, 2024 and 2025 Lite went from $2.95 a month in early October to $1.95 on Black Friday: one dollar a month, $12 over the 12-month term. In 2025 Pro went from $4.95 to $3.95 and Premium from $8.95 to $5.95. In 2021 and 2022 the saved pages show no lower price than in the autumn.
Is the GreenGeeks "85% off" real?
It was the label on Lite at Black Friday 2025: $1.95 against a regular rate of $12.95. The percentage is measured against the regular rate the plan renews at, not against the price before the sale, which was $2.95. Today's card says "Save 79%" for $2.95/mo against $13.95/mo, so most of that saving is there without a sale.
Do I need a coupon code for GreenGeeks Black Friday?
None of the archived GreenGeeks Black Friday pages names a code: the sale price was on the plan cards. Use the price on GreenGeeks' page at the time and check the total in the cart before you pay.
What does GreenGeeks renew at after the Black Friday price?
The regular rate on the card. Today that is $13.95/mo a month for Lite, $18.95/mo for Pro and $30.95/mo for Premium. GreenGeeks prints it under the price: pre-paid for 12 months, then renews at the original price.
Can I lock in the Black Friday price for longer than a year?
Not on today's page: GreenGeeks shows only the 12-month term for shared hosting, so the sale price covers one year and the renewal starts in month 13. Over four years Lite costs $537.60 at today's price and $525.60 at the last Black Friday price, a difference of $12.
Is GreenGeeks fast enough for WordPress?
We cannot say from our own numbers: we have not benchmarked GreenGeeks. GreenGeeks lists LiteSpeed caching (LSCache) and Redis on its shared plans. The hosts we have tested at a similar price are compared on this page, with their results.
Is GreenGeeks really green?
That is GreenGeeks' own claim and we have not audited it. It says it matches its energy use three times over with renewable energy through the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, and that it has been an EPA Green Power Partner since 2009.
Can I get a refund on a GreenGeeks Black Friday plan?
GreenGeeks lists a 30-day money-back guarantee on every shared plan card. Domain fees are usually kept back on a refund at most hosts, so read the terms on the day you buy.
