Hostinger is the best web hosting for most Indonesian websites, Kinsta is the fastest of the hosts we tested with a data center in Indonesia, and ChemiCloud in Singapore is the low-cost choice if you can pay in US dollars. I benchmarked eight hosts on the same test site and ranked them first on whether their own pages offer a location in Indonesia, then on Singapore, the nearest major hosting hub, because for visitors in Indonesia the location matters more than anything else on the order form.
Here is the limit of what I know. Our test sites sat on servers in New York or Frankfurt, and we measured them from 10 locations. None is in Indonesia; the nearest is Singapore. So the load and uptime results tell you how good each platform is, and the location list tells you whether you can put it near your visitors. Prices are in each host's own currency, rupiah or US dollars, and are never converted. The six-year totals use the renewal price, because that is what you pay after the first term.

- One WordPress test site per plan, the same site everywhere, with the host's own caching left as it ships.
- The test servers sat in New York or Frankfurt. Hostinger and SiteGround answered fastest from Frankfurt, where their test servers were; the rest from New York.
- Response time (TTFB) from 10 locations: New York, Dallas, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Tokyo and Mumbai, at the origin with no CDN. None is in Indonesia; Singapore is the nearest.
- Load: a ramp from 0 to 250 clients at once. We report the response at the 100-user step and the share of requests that failed.
- Uptime checked every minute for 54 days.

Hostinger is the only shared host we benchmarked whose own server list includes Indonesia, and its Indonesian site sells every plan in rupiah, so there is no card conversion fee. Niagahoster's old address now leads to that same site. Premium is Rp 24,900 a month on a 48-month term and renews at Rp 84,900; the Single plan is cheaper, Rp 12,900 renewing at Rp 54,900, but we did not benchmark it. The term is paid up front.
The trade-off is speed under load. We benchmarked Premium from Hostinger's global site on a Frankfurt server: it answered one visitor in 109ms near the server, but with 100 visitors at once it took 520ms and 0.8% of requests failed over the ramp. That is fine for a blog, a company profile or a small shop. For a store that runs big sales, a plan below holds up better.
#2. Kinsta: Fastest Tested Host With a Data Center in Indonesia

Kinsta is managed WordPress hosting, and its data center list includes Batam, in Indonesia, as well as Singapore. On our benchmark its single-site plan held up through the whole load ramp without a failed request, 92ms with 100 visitors at once, far ahead of Hostinger.
It costs much more and does less outside WordPress: the single-site plan covers one WordPress install and hosts no email, billed in US dollars at $35.00/mo, or $29.17/mo billed yearly, which makes six years $2,100.
#3. ChemiCloud: Low-Cost Hosting in Singapore

ChemiCloud is shared hosting with cPanel and the LiteSpeed web server. It has no Indonesian location, but it offers Singapore, the nearest major hosting hub. On our benchmark Pro held up through the whole load ramp without a failed request, well ahead of Hostinger and every other shared plan here.
It bills in US dollars, so it suits you if you have a card that pays abroad. One bill covers the hosting, the email accounts and the backups, and six years cost $752, the lowest of the US-dollar hosts on this page. The low price needs the 36-month term; on 12 months it is $4.49/mo.

ScalaHosting Entry Cloud
The fastest plan in this comparison: 58ms with 100 concurrent users and no failed requests. Entry Cloud is a managed cloud server with CPU cores and memory reserved for your account, and SPanel, ScalaHosting's own control panel, covers email. ScalaHosting lists Singapore on its Integrated Cloud and AWS infrastructure, not on its own data centers, so ask its sales chat to confirm Singapore for your plan. It is $14.95/mo on 12 months or $24.95/mo on 36 months, renewing at $39.95/mo, so six years cost $2,336. Current offers: ScalaHosting coupon page.
Cloudways on DigitalOcean
Cloudways manages a cloud server for you, and its DigitalOcean page lists Singapore. The DigitalOcean Premium server answered in 86ms with 100 concurrent users and failed no requests. It is $14.00/mo billed monthly with no contract, resizable when traffic grows, but email is extra: Rackspace mailboxes are $1.50 each a month. Current offers: Cloudways promo code page.
FastComet FastCloud Plus
FastComet has had a Singapore data center since November 2016. FastCloud Plus answered in 420ms with 100 concurrent users and failed 0.19% of requests. It is $6.29/mo on 36 months and renews at $17.95/mo, so six years cost $873, more than ChemiCloud for a slower result under load.
Hosting.com
Hosting.com lists Singapore for its Starter, Pro and Max plans and its cloud servers. We tested Turbo Boost, a plan inherited from A2 Hosting and no longer sold: 534ms with 100 concurrent users, 0.3% failed. The Pro plan that replaced it is $3.99/mo on 36 months and renews at $19.99/mo; we have not benchmarked it.
SiteGround GrowBig
SiteGround's pages say it runs data centers in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, without naming the Asian city, so we cannot tell you whether Singapore is offered. Under load GrowBig was the weakest plan here: 780ms with 100 concurrent users and 4% of requests failed on a ramp that stopped at 100 clients. It is $6.69/mo for 12 months, then $29.99/mo.
Indonesian Hosts, Not Tested by Us
These Indonesian hosts price in rupiah. We have not benchmarked any of them, so none is ranked.
- DomaiNesia, founded in 2009, offers server locations in Jakarta and Singapore. Its web hosting starts at Rp 18,000 a month. Its plan names have changed since our last price capture, so check the renewal price on its order page.
- Dewaweb: its Scout plan is Rp 35,000 a month on a yearly plan, the same at renewal. Its site stopped our read at a bot check, so we make no claim here about its data center.
- IDCloudHost: Starter Pro is Rp 15,000 a month for 12 months, then Rp 20,000; its smallest VPS is Rp 50,000 a month. Its site also stopped our read at a bot check, so we make no location claim.
Why a Server in or Near Indonesia Matters
Every page a server builds for a visitor makes a round trip across the distance between them. On our benchmark the same server answered from Singapore about three times slower than near home: ChemiCloud 78ms in New York against 256ms from Singapore, ScalaHosting 38ms against 124ms. Nothing about the server changed, only the distance, and Indonesia is no closer to New York or Frankfurt than Singapore is.
We did not measure from Indonesia, so we cannot put a number on Jakarta against Singapore. What the records do say is that the distance to the server matters far more than small differences between plans, so a location in Indonesia or Singapore is the first thing to choose. A CDN helps with images, scripts and cached pages, but forms, carts, checkouts and your admin area still go to the server.
Does Indonesian Law Require Local Hosting?
For most websites, no. Government Regulation 71 of 2019 (PP 71/2019) requires public-scope electronic system operators, meaning government bodies and those acting for them, to manage and store their data in Indonesia unless the technology is not available locally. Private-scope operators, which covers most businesses, may store data abroad, but sector regulators such as OJK for financial services can set stricter rules of their own. For an everyday Indonesian website billed in rupiah, I would take Hostinger with its Indonesian location, and keep an eye on it during big sales. For a WordPress store that has to stay fast when many shoppers arrive together, Kinsta in Batam. If I could pay in US dollars and wanted email and cPanel on a steadier shared plan, ChemiCloud in Singapore. Whatever the host, choose Indonesia or Singapore as the location when you order.
