Like BlueHost and HostMonster, JustHost is also a brand of the Endurance International Group (EIG) group, and to get an overall picture of this company, we have been a paying customer of theirs for over a year, purchasing their shared hosting plans and continuously monitoring uptime important metrics such as uptime and page load time, and this review relies heavily on the test data we obtained.

What is JustHost

View Details

In 2002, Chris Phillips founded JustHost in Glendale, California, which was acquired by EIG the following year.

While EIG doesn't project a good image, to give JustHost a fair chance, we launched a basic WordPress site on a shared hosting plan. Since that time, we've been monitoring their uptime and page load speed in order to provide you with this fair review.

Benefits of JustHost

If you have read our other hosting reviews, then it is likely that you are familiar with the structure of this article. Before we do, our thread focuses on some positives.

  1. Uptime

Over the past 12 months, JustHost's average uptime was 99.97%, a stability slightly above the industry average of 99.94%.

  1. Live server configuration

Some hosting providers will implement a lengthy registration process for most new accounts, which means you may need to verify your identity over the (international) phone. The good news is that JustHost offers instant server configuration, so if you want to use their shared hosting, VPS or dedicated servers, you can get up and running in no time.

  1. 30-day money-back guarantee

If you are not satisfied with your initial experience, then you can request a refund within 30 days, which is the industry average, with some companies offering longer refund periods, such as DreamHost (97 days) and Web Hosting Hub (90 days).

Please note that the refund applies to the hosting service only and does not include other products. JustHost will deduct $15.99 from the refund as a non-refundable domain fee since new users receive a free domain name upon registration.

  1. Rich add-ons and integration

In addition to over 100 open source applications, JustHost easily integrates with popular platforms such as G Suite. If you're ready to start selling your products online, there are also advertising credits available for Google Ads and Bing Ads, which is a nice added bonus.

  1. Free domain name

Regardless of which hosting plan you choose, you will receive a free domain name with your newly registered account.

  1. Free Script Library

JustHost offers a complete library of scripts for free to all users. SimpleScripts automates the execution of any available script, including one-click installations of WordPress, osCommerce, phpBB and Joomla.

  1. Good security

Security should be one of the primary considerations when choosing a web host, and JustHost does a great job of this, using Secure Socket Layer (SSL), Secure Shell (SSH), and Solid State Drives (SSD) to keep you as far away from danger as possible. SiteLock security services are also available, which include.

  1. Daily all-round vulnerability scan
  2. Real-time alerts and email notifications
  3. Verifiable dynamic security badges
  4. Dashboard Report
  5. Security Maintenance
  6. Whenever a threat is detected, you will be alerted immediately so that prompt action can be taken against the harmful content. justHost claims that if you do not know how to remove the malicious files yourself, then you can contact their support team to do so.

Disadvantages of JustHost

The most important indicators of a web host include.

  1. Uptime: the average time the site is online and available, excluding downtime and unresponsiveness.
  2. Page load time: the time it takes for a web page to load all of its content; typically, the slower the site, the lower the conversion rate.
  3. Customer Support: Good service should help you make your website look its best while addressing any common problems.
  4. Next we look at some of the disadvantages of JustHost.
  5. page load time

In our 12-month test, performance was below the industry average (890 ms) for all of the first four months, but page load speeds became significantly faster in the following months.

  1. Unsatisfactory customer support

Unfortunately, JustHost's customer support is not extremely responsive and it took us about 10 minutes to establish a connection with them. And, most of the answers they provided were simply links to FAQs on the page!

If effective 24/7 customer support is important to you, then you may want to think twice.

  1. Industry pricing standards

JustHost looks cheap at only $3.95 per month. but please note that if you want to lock in this great price, then you need to pay for three years. Otherwise, the shorter period will use the higher price of.

To make matters worse, when your hosting plan expires, the renewal price will go up again.

  1. Weekly backups are not guaranteed

JustHost offers weekly backups, which are not as good as some other competitors' daytime or nighttime backups, but still not bad. If there is an emergency, at least you have a copy every week.

However, while technically offered, they do not offer a commitment to weekly backups. Obviously, you can't leave the security and future of your website in the hands of such uninspiring statements, and just in case, you may need another backup plan.

  1. Despondent upselling

Any company is free to raise revenue, but it should be done in the right way. Unfortunately, when signing up for JustHost, you will be hit with a frenzy of upsells. Many people have already complained about this practice, but it won't stop the ongoing upsell frenzy.
